Alpha-mannosidosis is an incredibly rare genetic disorder characterized by a deficiency in the enzyme alpha-mannosidase. This deficiency leads to the buildup of complex sugars (oligosaccharides) in various tissues, causing a wide range of symptoms including intellectual disability, skeletal abnormalities, and impaired immune function.
